ICT partnered with 3Com to solve an ongoing inventory problem. While in the process of a product re-launch of their modem line, 3Com had 47,000 "end of line" legacy units of stock remaining in inventory and on their books. ICT purchased the entire stock with the agreement to resell and support the units outside core 3Com channels.
ICT then managed all of the contract and warranty issues for this stock. 3Com no longer needed to spend the time and resources to effectively manage legacy technology. All field returns were supported by ICT. The audit revealed that 3Com distribution channels were protected and the client customer base was not eroded.
Today, ICT continues to be the preferred 3Com "alternative distributor", managing all surplus stock. We manage the global secondary market globally for 3Com, while allowing 3Com to enjoy a continuous revenue stream from surplus and obsolete stock.
